Terms of Use
License, safety, and use information for BreatheAndHold.
These terms describe use of BreatheAndHold, also displayed as Breathe and Hold, published by Aaron Trank. Please read them before using the app.
License
The app is licensed, not sold. Its App Store license is governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement. This page provides additional product and safety information and does not replace that agreement or limit rights that applicable law gives you.
The app's code, design, and artwork remain the property of their respective owners. Custom programs you create remain yours; using the app does not grant the developer rights to your practice data.
General wellness, not medical care
The app provides visual timing, descriptions of breathing techniques, and practice records for general wellness. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease, and it does not measure oxygen levels or determine whether a breath hold is safe. Descriptions of possible benefits are not guarantees of results.
Seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional about whether these exercises are appropriate for you, especially if you have a medical condition or are pregnant. Do not use the app in place of medical care or to delay seeking it.
Breath-hold safety
Breath holding and rapid breathing can cause dizziness, fainting, or loss of consciousness. Practice only seated or lying down in a safe, dry location. Never practice in or near water, while driving, operating machinery, or anywhere a loss of consciousness could cause injury. This app is not for underwater training or diving.
Do not hyperventilate to extend a breath hold. Stop immediately if you feel dizzy, confused, numb, or otherwise unwell. Do not force a hold or treat a previous maximum as a target you must exceed. User-controlled retention means you choose when to stop; the timer is not an assurance of safety.
For background on these risks, see Divers Alert Network's breath-hold safety guidance.
Your data and availability
Practice data is stored on your device and optionally synchronized through your private iCloud account. Keep appropriate backups if the records matter to you. Sync is not a guarantee of recovery: deletion, device loss, storage limits, or sync failures may result in lost data. The developer cannot restore records from your device or private iCloud account.
Notifications, timers, and synchronization depend on your device and Apple's services and may be interrupted. The app should not be relied on for emergencies or safety-critical timing.
See the Privacy Policy for details about storage, reminders, and deletion.
Warranty and liability
The warranty and liability provisions of Apple's Standard EULA apply, subject to applicable law. No particular wellness result, personal record, uninterrupted service, or error-free operation is promised. Nothing on this page excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
