BreatheAndHold

Privacy Policy

How BreatheAndHold stores practice data on your device and, optionally, in your private iCloud account.

This policy covers BreatheAndHold, also displayed as Breathe and Hold, published by Aaron Trank. The app does not require an account, contain advertising, track you, or send your practice data to the developer.

Data stored on your device

The app stores breathing-session history, including programs, timing, completion status, and round and retention results where applicable. It also stores full-lung and empty-lung breath-hold history, custom programs, favorites, and settings.

Settings include your optional reminder time, iCloud-sync preference, and whether you have seen the walkthrough. A local completed-session counter and rating-request counter determine when the app asks iOS to offer an App Store review. The app cannot see whether you submit a rating or review.

These records are stored in the app's container or local preferences. They are not sent to a developer-operated server. Device backups may include app data according to your Apple backup settings.

Optional iCloud sync

If you enable Sync with iCloud, the app uses Apple's iCloud services to store and merge breathing history, breath-hold history, custom programs, and favorites through your private iCloud account. The developer does not receive or have access to that copy. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Turning sync off stops the app's future synchronization; it does not itself erase an existing iCloud copy.

Notifications

Daily reminders are optional and require your permission. They are scheduled locally on your device at your chosen time. The app does not use a developer-operated push-notification service. You can disable reminders in the app or manage notification permission in device Settings.

No tracking or advertising

The app has no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs. It does not request access to your contacts, location, microphone, photos, or HealthKit data. It does not sell practice records or share them with advertisers.

App Store reviews and external links

Rating requests use Apple's native StoreKit interface. Ratings and reviews are handled by Apple, not collected by the app. If you open an App Store link or this website, the destination's own services and privacy practices apply. This policy describes the app, not the hosting or access logs of external websites.

Deleting data

Settings includes Reset All Progress, which erases local session and breath-hold history, custom programs, and favorites and requests removal of the app's synchronized iCloud snapshot. This does not reset every app preference or erase Apple-managed device backups. Other devices and existing backups may still retain data; manage those separately through Apple's settings.

Deleting the app removes its local app data but does not by itself guarantee deletion of iCloud copies or backups. The developer cannot retrieve, export, or delete private iCloud or device records on your behalf.

Children

The app does not collect personal information for the developer from users of any age. This is not a claim that breath-hold training is suitable for children; consult the safety information and appropriate professional guidance.
